Recently I had a non-profit organization come out to remove some of our ewaste (old computers and monitors and printers -- Some working -- Some not). This is a good way for businesses to dispose of their ewaste while actually helping the community at the same time. They provided me with a receipt for these items which will be a tax deduction!

When I met them at a computer show, they mentioned that they organize ewaste fundraising events for churches and schools. If you are affiliated with a church or school they can hold a collection event to raise funds for your organization or you can participate in an ongoing fundraiser. Qualified organizations can accumulate points towards computers, computer classes or funds for your organization. These fundraisers require little to no effort on your part and it is very rewarding.

Their objective is to put computers in the homes of under privileged children and families. They provide training for them as well. Much of what we can no longer use and couldn't sell if we tried, can be used in this way. What can't be used is properly disposed of. They are a state licensed for ewaste disposal.
